AHPA Policy Brief: Residential Aged Care April 2022

Despite recommendations from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety that allied health should become an intrinsic part of residential aged care, there is still no guaranteed funding to ensure access to allied health services for all older persons who need it.

This Policy Brief criticises federal Government reliance on the new Australian National Aged Care Classification model as lacking financial detail, inappropriate, insufficient and over-relying on providers to ‘do the right thing’. It concludes with recommendations from the National Aged Care Alliance, of which AHPA is a member.
