This document provides a detailed overview of AHPA’s vision for increased access to allied health services under Medicare. The document has been developed to support the work of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) Review Allied Health Reference Group.
The framework presents our recommendations for improving the equity and universality of access to care for consumers while ensuring that health dollars are being spent effectively and efficiently. A broad range of evidence has been collated in support of our recommendations.
This document is part of a series of submissions AHPA has developed in consultation with its member associations as part of ongoing work to support reforms to Medicare and improved access to allied health care for Australians. Additional information about individual recommendations can be found in the position statements we have developed.
