Value and affordability of private health insurance and out-of-pocket medical costs submission
Allied Health Professions Australia and its member associations recognise that health costs in Australia are growing unsustainably. Our submission to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs inquiry reflected our belief that there are clear options to address this growth, in particular by tackling our largest health burden: chronic disease. Our submission notes that this will require changes to the way our health system funds interventions and, in particular, increases access to allied health services.
AHPA’s submission is based on close consultation with our member associations and endeavours to provide an allied health perspective on a number of the issues covered by the Terms of Reference.
