Allied health NDIS registration support website launched

Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) is pleased to announce the launch of our National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registration support website for allied health providers.

The site provides free resources and guidance to help allied health providers meet the requirements of NDIS registration and prepare for the audit process associated with registration.

Currently, the registration support website contains information for providers about verification-level audits. Information about certification-level audits will be coming soon, as well as webinars to help providers working their way through the steps involved.

The information and resources on the website have been developed by allied health professionals for allied health professionals. They are designed to be user-friendly and specifically address the needs of allied health professionals. They have also undergone vigorous review by auditors and testing by allied health providers.

AHPA will ensure materials and website content are updated in line with any changes in NDIS registration rules.

Changes to NDIS registration

The NDIS Commission has recently announced changes to the registration rules to simplify the registration and audit process for NDIS providers delivering lower risk supports.

These changes were made, in response to feedback from across the disability sector, to reduce the regulatory burden on some NDIS providers, particularly small businesses delivering lower risk supports.

From 1st January 2020, audit requirements will be based on the level of risk associated with the supports provided to participants. Many services that allied health professionals deliver, including therapeutic supports, are in low risk registration groups and will require a verification-level audit only.
