AHPA welcomes the release of the 2021-2030 National Preventative Health Strategy earlier this week and were pleased to be on the Expert Steering Committee.

The Strategy aims to provide more balance to the health system by enhancing the focus on prevention and by building systems-based change over a 10-year period and improve the health and wellbeing of all Australians at all stages of life, through a systems-based approach to prevention that addresses the wider determinants of health, reduces health inequities and decreases the overall burden of disease.

The report also addresses the importance of not only physical health, but also social and mental wellbeing, all of which allied health plays a key role.
