The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services has just released workforce reports for ten allied health professions as well as a report covering the allied health assistant workforce.
The reports were developed as part of the Allied Health Workforce Research Program, which aimed to better understand the demographics of allied health professions, to identify the factors that impacted engagement and commitment to roles, and to determine the issues most affecting workforce development and professions’ abilities to meet service demand.
The three-year program was undertaken by Southern Cross University on behalf of DHHS and involved gathering in-depth qualitative and quantitative data from allied health employers and individual allied health practitioners.
