The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Quality and Safeguards Commission has launched a free online short course to assist workers in the disability sector to better support people with disability.

The new short course is called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ and has been developed in close consultation with participants and providers to support workers under the NDIS to deliver high quality services. The new Worker Orientation Module covers the following topic areas:

  • An introduction to the NDIS
  • The role of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Roles and responsibilities under the Code of Conduct including requirements related to human rights, respect and risk.

The module takes around 90 minutes to complete. A certificate of completion is provided at the end of the module, which is then transferrable with the employee if they change jobs.

The Module can be accessed on the NDIS Commission website.
