The Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association (APPTA), established in 2007, is the peak body for Play Therapists across Australia and the Asia Pacific. APPTA advocates for the profession, maintains a register of qualified members, and sets clinical and training standards. Registered Play Therapists are trained mental health professionals working in diverse settings using evidence-based approaches. APPTA supports the regulation, accreditation of university programs, research, and professional networks. It promotes Play Therapy as a developmentally appropriate treatment and ensures ongoing professional development through supervision and education. APPTA also liaises with national and international organisations to advance the field of Play Therapy.

The Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA) is the peak professional body for education, research and management of lymphoedema in Australia and New Zealand.  The ALA represents over 750 members, consisting of medical professionals, researchers and educators.

The ALA has as its primary objectives, to raise awareness of lymphoedema, provide high quality education and resources, and encourage and support lymphoedema research.

The ALA takes a strong position on advocating for improved services and support for lymphoedema treatment. In addition, a current key focus is to lobby for improved and equitable access to compression garment subsidies.

The ALA provides accreditation for lymphoedema practitioners via the ALA Accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner Program (ALPP).  The ALPP is a robust self-regulated scheme for lymphoedema practitioners who have acquired an appropriate level of lymphoedema education and professional competence, demonstrate currency of practice and participate in continuing professional development.  ALA Accredited Lymphoedema Practitioners must adhere to a Code of Professional Conduct and Ethical Practice, demonstrate recency of practice and comply with a range of mandatory declarations.

Dance Movement Therapy Association of Australasia (DTAA) is the recognised professional body for dance movement therapy in Australasia. It sets the standards for Professional, Provisional Professional, and Associate levels of membership, training and supervision. The DTAA also warmly welcomes General and Student members.

The DTAA promotes the growth, development and recognition of the dance movement therapy profession in Australasia by:

The Play Therapy Practitioners Association (PTPA) is the peak professional body for play therapists in Australia. The Association was founded in 2018 by a group of likeminded professionals committed to advocating for the training and provision of play therapy services across Australia.
